Seriously…how can this not make me happy??
Speaking of Olive, here are a few recent photos I took of her:

She’s practically the cutest thing I’ve ever seen…

nothing!

Things I have decided to do during spring break:

• Make guacamole
• Spring clean
• Make my apartment sparkle and shine
• This includes vacuuming.
• Create jewelry
• Work on my portfolio
• Bust out my sewing machine and see what I can crank out
• Make a home workspace for myself!! (I currently have no space to create @ home)
• Write!
• Read my Europe journal and reflect…
• Eat guacamole
I might be getting ahead of myself with some of this, but who knows. Maybe all I will end up accomplishing is sleep! (I slept until noon today…13 hours of sleep…)
Today is a day of ABSOLUTE ZERO URGENCY TO DO ANYTHING, as I demonstrated with sleeping in so late. No school, no work, no homework that desperately needs to be done, no bills that need to be paid (or else), nothing to feed, no errands, no commitments, no screaming children (or middle-aged women), nowhere to travel, no one traveling to me and finally: NOTHING! Today I’m a chili dog.
I suppose it’s St. Patrick’s Day and I’m aware that I’m wearing very little green. We’ll see how the day fares, and if there’s green beer involved…

excellent! sweet!

AS I MENTIONED A FEW DAYS AGO, I was keeping my fingers crossed with hopes of sharing good news. Well, it came today…and the news is good! I applied for the Department of Art & Design Excellence Scholarship and was one of four lucky recipients! I feel absolutely blessed!

The scholarship means a great chunk of the financial burden for my upcoming BFA year will be alleviated (scholarship = fewer loans = happiness). I will also take part in a colloquium lecture and give a talk about my work (date pending…likely next fall) as well as arrange an exhibit. It sounds like a lot now, but really — I am more than willing to push myself and work a little to receive this grant I’ve been awarded!
So, it is a good day — other than coming down with a bit of a cold (which was inevitable). Tomorrow is the gallery reception and my parents will be in town! If you can come, there is going to be many wonderful artists exhibiting the fruits of their artistic labors, free food, and just straight up wonderfulness.
I’ve been scraping away at my portfolio all evening and it’s time to turn in! (I did a bit of karaoke last night and am still trying to recover…)
love, love, love
